Penetrating Oils - Anyone use Kroil?
« on: May 29, 2007, 08:24:44 AM »
A friend of mine was telling me about a penetrating oil called "Kroil." He says it's better than any other penetrating oil he has ever used.

Has anyone ever used this before? Figured I would ask since since my can of WD40 just ran out and I need to get some stuff anyway.

Yep, use it every time I need to get something loosened up here at work.  Works great.  Stinks, but works great.

the ATF/acetone mix does wonders, even straight ATF does good.

I save my used ATF fluid from my forks when I change fork oil for just this purpose.

yeah we use it at work too, its rather good, but I've got a little something against penetrating oils. Whenever there is something broken it is bound to be wrapped in duct tape and sitting in a puddle of Kroil.

Kroil is good stuff when you can find it.  Another great one is called "777".  It is, in my opinion, better than PB Blaster and WD-40 combined.  Don't know about getting it retail, though, I used to use it when I was a diesel technician and not sure where the parts guy got it.
