Topic: New to the forums witha few questions about my 750 k3

I just purchased a nicely maintained 1973 CB750 and have a few things I'm trying to figure out.  Here's a few questions;

1. Will changing the color and striping to that of an earlier year affect the value? The bike is not in show condition now and has 21k on the clock, my goal is to simply have a really nice driver.

2. It has an aftermarket 4-1 exhaust and I'd like to take it back to original, can i use the exhaust from any other K model or should I stick to a K3?

3. When repainting it, should i use a sticker set or were the stripes originally painted on the tanks.

I cant help you with you questions about the exhaust but as for the paint I really don't think that repainting it would deminish the value of the bike.  If you really were conserned about the value of the bike I would go with one of the original paint schemes of 1973 and to be honest I would think that this would actually make the scoot more appealing to other buyers if you were to sell the bike ect.

The k2-k6 exhaust pipes (code 341) are the same. The k3 tanks all had decals to my knowledge.
You could always get a spare tank from ebay and paint it however you like and save your original one to put back on later. Unpainted side covers are available aftermarket as well.

ditto jsaab, any code HM341 pipes are correct, stripes were decals and repros still available

Just to add a bit nobody, not even Honda, can tell you what colour it was when it left the factory so as long as you stick to a "year specific" colour its your choice and will not decrease the value
