The Duck Runs again
« on: June 01, 2007, 07:09:35 PM »
Well, I decided I had to hear it run before I took it down to paint the frame.

I cleaned the carbs a bit, cleaned the tank with lacquer thinner, put in fresh oil,
made some plug wires and made sure it had some points in it.
I just have the straight pipes without the balance pipes on it yet.
I'll be hunting for some silencers I'm sure.

This bike sat for 15 years in my cousins garage in California.
Took me a bit to figure out the enrichment lever but when I did.
She fires on one kick now.

Woo Hoo!  I'm really freakin' jealous!  I couldn't bear to tear that bike down.  It sounds so good, I'd just have to ride it.  I'm a big fan of the "rolling restoration".

Hey, me to, I'm just going to drop the engine for now.
Paint the frame teal blue. Tank silver or maybe a 2 tone teal blue with silver.
Side covers and fenders silver. Fix the lights and bits. Engine back in
and ride. If it had the sprockets and chain on it today I'd have rode it ;D ;D
Wow it's nice to hear one fire back up after a long time off ;D ;D
