The first day of Hurricane season
« on: June 01, 2007, 08:20:18 PM »
Its the first day of Hurricane Season and we already have one bearing down on us.
I hope this is not one of those seasons where I feel like I am sitting in the middle of a shooting gallery.
You know you have lived in Florida to long when you hope the hurricane hits someone else and don't feel guilty about it.
The bright side is Hurricane days. (Kind of like snow days)

Wow, if the predicted track proves accurate, what a worst case scenario, at the very least for coastal erosion and flooding.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Thats such a shame that it will be passing me by durring the week.  I enjoy seeing a good storm in the summer season.  (I am a surfer).  But of course I like the ones that run up the coast and hurt no one, or damage property.

I hope everyone makes it through this ok.

One positive note, if there is sufficient rain, might put out those fires in northern FL and GA.

Huh, hit land last night as I was riding home from work. I'm in Bradenton, just south of Tampa Bay.

I got soaked.

Can't say I'm sorry to see this one and hope no one or no one's property is adversely affected, but we needed this rain in North Carolina.  While we have had small thunderstorms roll through the area, I had not seen rain for over a month (except one little 5 min. shower), until today.

I feel for you.  Hopefully this weather pattern will change soon... for the better.

If we had to take a direct hit this was the one to take.
We definitely needed the rain, the wind was not bad at all.
It made me stay home so I performed some much needed maintenance instead of riding.

My daughter moved from Florida up to New Jersey this year, she only spent 3 years there but is not sorry to see the end of the storm warnings but she is now looking forward to having 4 seasons again. Good luck with the rest of the Hurricane Season.

No kidding. The pastures here on the farm were drier than a popcorn fart! A good steady rain last night and this morning. Just blah this afternoon. It helped but we could still use more rain!
