78 750K parts
« on: June 01, 2007, 10:57:35 AM »
Hello everybody, I have a 78 750K and I'm not sure where and what kind of parts to get for her.  I'm looking for some clubman bars, a set of gauges, and a nice seat.  If anyone can point me in the right direction or offer some suggestions or even show some pics of their very own bike, I'd greatly appreciate it.  Thanks everyone.

Well the clubmans are pretty easy, just look for 35mm. The gauges, well what is wrong with yours? New gauges are easy to get, it is calibrating them to work correctly that is the problem. The seat, what shape is your pan in? Remove the trim ring and pull the cover off. Lok at your foam and seat pan. Some corrosion is common. I got mine blasted and the holes filled in. Then reused the foam and got some marine grade vinyl and had it recovered.  In the FAQ sections, on the second page are numerous sources for parts. Check those out.

Hey thanks eldar, is 35mm the standard size for the 78 cb750k?  Seems like most bars I see are 7/8" on ebay.  I think 35mm is a little more than an inch.  Do you know if 7/8" bars will fit on my bike?  Also, my gauges are just broke, the speedo is dented and rusted and my tach just doesn't work.  I'm lookin into gettin some aftermarket ones if possible.  Any suggestions on that one?  Thanks a bunch for your help.

Most CB550 and CB750 gauges should work fine.  You can get them rather cheap on our "For sale forum" if another member is selling them or on ebay.

35 mm is the fork diameter which is what you clip the clubmans onto I think. Bars are 7/8 for all the 750 models. But the clubmans do not attach to the existing bars. That is mainly for if you get after market grips and such.

You mean clip-ons for 35mm fork tubes, vs. 7/8" Clubman bars, right?

clubman bar diameter is meaning less, you need to go by the 35MM fork diameter. If you buy another size, they wont fit. SO you find clubmans that clip to 35mm and THEN you decide what diameter of bars you want.

Clubmans are handlebars that mount to the stock handlebar mount location.  Clip-ons are handlebars that clip on to the fork tubes, so if you're looking for clubmans, you'd want to go with 7/8 inch.
