Having been laid up for a long period myself, I'm completely sympathetic. I try to help out when ever possible because I know how boredom and depression and actually slow the healing process. I'd like to help if I may; send me your address and I'll be glad to send you some parts to polish. No thanks needed- it's just the way I was raised.
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

Very nice indeed. What grit wetsandpaper did you stop at before polishing. I'm doing the legs, cases, and cover for a K2 and am at 600 grit wet. How far did you go?

the stator cover is as the factory left it... though it is a after market one, and doesnt match up to the transmission cover very well, still polishing the stock cover, the trans/chain, and rocker cover... i went to 1200 wet AND DRY... THOUGH IT TEND TO BE PEDANTIC.... ::).. have also polished the rear brake mount, and the clutch casing, also the finned clutch cover... will do the forks when i get another set or another bike... this bike is my only transport... so cant be off the road long... peace

Thassa nice job Ben, what model head did you fit? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

dunno. it had exhaust valve seals, and the same number of fin spacers as my old head... got it off PUD in the 750/4 owners club.... seemed to work alright, but its running lean again with this head... was just starting to get colour in the plugs with the rooted head, but now i am back to white(clean) plugs.... so am still fiddling with jetting.... BTW terry, saw a hockheed oil cooler go on ebay for over 200 dollars!!! is that right... you need to seel your adapters on ebay mate... would make a fortune!!!! peace

G'Day Ben, thanks for that, yeah I saw that auction and fell about laughing, I've got half a dozen of those potmetal adapters hanging in my garage, I must buy some more coolers and sell them as a "set", in fact I can do one now as I've bought a CB900 cooler for my racer project and I'll adapt it to suit my "Terry-Built" adapter, so I can sell a nice Derale cooler "set" I've been saving, on EvilBay.

So what was wrong with your rooted head? Was it fin damage, or valve problems? Clyde reckons that F1 heads are probably the best you can put on either a K or even an F2, and I'm inclined to agree with him. Cheers, Terry. ;D

the PO had tried to screw a spark plug in on the piss... and broke the top out of the thread and stuffed it, so he helicoiled it, but didnt repait the sealing face for the spark plug washer to seal on, over time the exhaust gases ate all the alloy away from the thread repair and wouldnt seal.... and because i was doing alot of plug chops trying to get the fuel mixture right, the helicaoil actually screwed itself into the combustion chamber.... the piston had little marks all over the top near the spark plug hole... there were about 4 threads stretched into the head area... just luck i decided to do the head swap when i did and not after it had broken off...you get that i s'pose on a an old bike...
