New wiring harness
« on: June 05, 2007, 12:00:23 PM »
I've had a few people send me PMs about the availability of wiring harnesses for our Cb's. Well, they're no longer available. Which got me to thinking, would anybody be interested in a complete NEW harness? I've been thinking of making myself one. It's just a matter of being able to read a wiring diagram, cutting wire to length, and terminating the ends accordingly.

Any interest?

David Silver still has wiring harnesses for the 750.  Not sure about the other models, though.

Interesting. I know for a fact that they're not available from Honda any more. I'm thinking of an ultra high quality replacement that might be easier for US owners to get their hands on.

When I get aroound to it I am going to make a new one for my 550.  I also plan on moving a couple of things so the wires are going to be a little different.  I'm going Cafe so all the electricals and the battery are going to go inside the rear of the seat pan.  I'm no where near that stage but when I get there I will post everything.....................Chris

If you do make them, one thing you definitely want to do is eliminate the inline poorly insulated +12 splice that Honda incorporated in the harness right underneath the gas tank.  I think this has been the cause of people blowing fuses as it is easily pinched between the tank and the frame member.  :o
