Going to be selling my 77 750k need your opinions
« on: June 06, 2007, 12:01:56 PM »
Well the time has come I dreaded. I have to give up riding bikes because of my health. Last ride was Oct. 2006 and so now it is time to say good by to bike riding.
I do need your help and opinions on price and best way or place to sell it. . I would like to get something between $1,500 and $1,000 for the bike on the open market. Is this to much? I live in the Fresno calif area. My thoughts are start on Craig’s list first and then may be over to e bay and the local paper. The bike is just about all stock but paint and bolt ones. It has about 50,000miles on it (not for sure as the Speedo was changed a few years back) the bike runs good but could use some TLC. It has never been wreaked or rebuilt that I know of .I also think it could appeal to a large group of people both the tour riders and restores, besides the chopper crowd and café racer. Tell me if I am on base here or what you think and would do in if this was your bike. The last thing I want to do is break it apart and sell it in pieces.  O ya the numbers all match and I am the 3rd owner.
Thanks for your time and the wife says thanks to but she is sad as she loved going for rides.

I think you would be better off selling the saddlebags, touring pack, windshield and luggage rack separate. You would be amazed at the price you could get on eBay. Do you have the original rear turn signals?

It has been painted and is missing the 750 emblems on the side covers so this will take away from the value. Also the seat and exhaust are after-market so that will make it take a hit also. The speedo and tach are not original and the exact milage is unknown so this is also a hit.

$1000 is probably the best you could hope for without the accessories. You can probably pull close to $1500 if you sell the accessories seperate. The market for our model CB750 is weird so you never know. I have a stock 78k that I wouldn't take $2000 for. That's just me though:)

Good luck with the sell.

Thanks for the info. Ya the 750 side badges I seam to have lost some were in all my moving and such. The bike sits as I got it but for the 4 into 1 header and paint. It had some 4 into 2 pipes but they rusted out. I have thought about pulling the travel things off and doing as you said. Right now it well take a bit longer went to start it today and the darn thing is leaking fuel past the float bowl gasket I believe. Also it will not hit and yesterday it ran great just my luck or is that a sign I am to keep her?

That's a pretty good looking bike!  I don't see why you couldn't get 1500 for it as it sits, gotta be somebody wanting a 1st bike that can't afford more than that and just wants something they can ride.  Run it as 1500 OBO and see who bites ;)
