back on subject, MV's have never really lived in the real world as far as prices go, but that's a lot of cash for something with Italian electrics :o

I wonder if SOHC4s will ever be worth that much ;D

AM I allowed to say that bike is one ugly piece of slab and I wouldnt even want to ride it long enough to crash it?  OOPS too late, I already said it!

Oh and I suppose you find that ugly grey flat slabbed engine nice?  Boy this site needs to add a barfing thing to the smileys! Some bikes are nice and some are just plain ugly, I dont care what brand they are.

OK, so the castings on the lower half of the engine and gearbox have gone dull over time, but  that's patina, and it on my opinion that merely adds to it :)
This is an original, well used, 30+ year old motorbike, not some over restored, over polished trailer queen we're talking about 8)
Besides Eldar, even you can't say that the top half of that engine is dull, surely ;)

See how much money that guy has spent buying on ebay in the last month or so......50K for the MV......130K for the Mustang.....57K for the Camaro....thats almost 1/4 a million dollars in the last month..........dam wish I was loaded!!!! ;D

The guy has some good taste and some nice toys!!

Those MV Agusta's are one of the few bikes I would jump at the chance to have one (if I could afford it)...  it was THE machine I wanted growing up...

That's my old boss who sold the MV.  When I worked with him, we sold things similar, but never that expensive.  I think the the most expensive bike he sold when I worked for him was a 54 (?) Ariel Squar Four.

I oughtta give him a call about it...

Like almost all things Italian, the MVs are an aquired taste. However, like all things Italian, if it breaks you'll wind up paying more for parts than a penthouse suite in Vegas for a weekend. I've never liked the MVs, but then I'm not a fan of the Boxer twin either - in the looks department.

And as far as rising prices go, just in the last 18 months or so there has been a noticeable increase in SOHC parts - and not just the sandcasts.

Well people are getting tired of the chopper crap and all the v-twin knockoffs running around. The 70s are back in and really so are the 80s. Just last week I saw THREE sohc4s running around. Bad thing is I was in traffic otherwise I would have tried to bring in some new members. I have seen a lot of 80s bikes suddenly coming out again too.  Too bad honda has a blanket over their head, I bet they would make a HUGE killing if they released a sohc style bike.
