Howdy - yes, me! I'm down Victor way.
Just sold a Douglas to a bloke up your way....waikerie.

Michael - I've been trying to join the Vintage Jap M/cycle Club, but just can't get any response from their website - seems they are ok in the eastern states, but SA is a bit sad and seemingly forgotten.

If you're ever down this way, make sure you let me know!
Cheers
Peter.

Hi, In in Adelaide too, wouldnt mind getting together (when I eventually get my bike going).

Met a few 750/4 chopper blokes from out North who also have various other resto etc 750s, I think I still have their ph#.

I've been waiting for someone to start a Vintage Jap club chapter in SA for a while.

Always loved the Idea of doing a 70s bike run, invite all the clubs (Ducati, Zeds etc) to bring ONLY 70s bikes for a run.....see what happens??,,,,.....Start from the Old Pirie street Bike precinct.
Hey Micheal G I know a bloke at Monash that has a restoed K2 and others, often sells on Ebay. Now whats His name????... :-\

I would be happy to help organise that 70s get together - good idea. PM me if you want and we can talk about it.
Have a go at contacting the VJMC about setting up an active chapter in SA - you might have better luck than me!

I'm after a front caliper by the way if you know of any around (K2).
Cheers

Contacted another "Brother" in Adelaide who is back into 750/4s and has a few on the go, he wants to have a ride too, and is interested in the "70s day" idea.

As I've said before I'm happy to help organise something. Would be a good thing. Sadly these days you have to be careful how you approach these things due to liability and litigation etc, the world's gone mad.

If we could ever get some response from the vjmc we could ask about setting up an SA chapter (there doesn't appear to be an active one to my knowledge - if there is it's a well kept secret) and be covered for these types of things, plus it makes it easy to advertise and promote. If it's at all possible, it saves having to reinvent the wheel so to speak.

Happy to discuss via PMs - I'm off to motogp though this week, so my mind is on other matters!! Back on the air next Wed night, all being well.
Perhaps in the meantime you guys could give the vjmc angle another try?

Just an update - I have sent an email via the vjmc website to every contact listed - 6 or 7 in all - so we'll see if we get a response from somebody.
Perhaps if you guys do the same, they'll have to take notice sooner or later. ???

Am joining as we speak, and I have put my hand up to be SA Coordinator, to try and get things happening here. National Pres seems like a nice bloke, they are well structured, and keen to get SA more active.
Stay tuned.

OK, calling all SA members - I have put my hand up to try and get the VJMC thing happening here and have been given the nod to give it a go. I will be contacting all current SA vjmc members and want-to-be members and hopefully begin organising some get togethers and runs etc.
So all those SA people on this forum who would like to be included, please:
1. If you are not a member of the VJMC, join http://vjmc.org.au/vjmcoz/
2. If you are a member, or joining, PM me to discuss what you'd like to happen, and to let me know where you are etc.

This is also a great way for us forum members to get to meet up too, and greatly increases our networks and contacts.

Some things I am considering - please put forward your own ideas too (best to PM as this is the sohc forum, and not necessarily a conduit for the vjmc - once we have established contact we'll mostly keep it off this forum, the vjmc has it's own forum, accessible once you join) - runs, show n shines, bbqs, dinners, pub meetings, representation at events (eg oz superbikes etc), trips interstate (eg vjmc nat rally)........

Look forward to catching up soon.
Peter.

For those SOHC Forum members interested in a VJMC meeting/ride day........

Details of our first 2011 meeting/ride day - Sunday Feb 6th, meet at Meadows Bakery 10am.
Bring yourself, your bike, your car, your family - have a pie/bun/coffee/softie - chat and meet fellow members - we can go for an informal ride after if we feel like it. We can talk about and decide what sort of format we'd like the SA Group to run with.

If you know a VJMC member, or someone who might want to be, let them know and encourage them to come too.

I'll be the bloke on the red CB750/4 and hopefully the other half will be on her yellow CB400/4. If it looks like it's going to be a scorcher of a day we may postpone - I don't reckon any of us really need to be standing around at the bakery or riding our bikes if it's a 40deg day........see how we go.

Hope to see you there.
Cheers
Peter.

good luck with it Alex, but I'm not sure why you want to reinvent the wheel.......come along on Feb 6th if you can.
Personally, I don't play facebooks.

Dang-nam-it. Feb 6 is my car club Rego/membership day, I gots to go to that for Historic rego. Just got me 750 going, need to get historic on it too.
Running ok, a few teething problems....eg massive oil leak...luckily i found the threads about the oil breather pipes. So thats where that trans breather goes...Noone told me!!?? :).
I just hope I didnt run the engine out of oil...it was everywhere.
Need to do a tune, timing check, install Hondamans ig module.
Neutral light wont go off???? Anyone know if there is any adjustment or something??
Do you have a contact mobile # or something Peter, so I can make the Next run???
Still love to do a 70s day, one day.
