Topic: gas leaking ( a lot of gas)

i removed my tank to work on my coils .ran the bike for a min to see how things were fireing without the tank.i put the tank back on when i was done with the coils turned on the petcock started the bike wasnt paying attn to the floor turned bike off then noticed a lot of gas coming from the bottom of the engine on to the floor.it is comeing from the #2 carb overflow (if thats what you call it) and i mean a lot of gas.i guess my question is WHY.as soon as the petcock is turned on or on reserve it dumps like a son of a gun.never had this happen before.and at the price of gas today  .i just added some seafoam at fill up but i doubt thats the problem.any ideas

check your hose connections you may have not connected the fuel line to the carbs correctly or it could be split/cracked...

Sounds to me like the float in that carb got hung up when you ran the carb dry (or nearly dry) with the gas tank off.  Not all that uncommon.  Tap on that carb with a screwdriver handle to see if you can un-stick it.

yep, stuck float or float needle be my guess.

yup...tapped the carb with a screwdriver and that fixed it ...thx all
