They have a manual with a spoke lacing section.

Lacing up a wheel is nothing to be frightened of if you follow certain rules. First remember that spokes go in one of two ways, those that go through the hub flanges from outside to inside and those that go from inside to outside. You MUST repeat MUST insert all of the spokes that go from outside to inside into the hub first. Next put the rim into place and loosely put a nipple onto each of these spokes. The remaining spokes that go through the flanges from inside to outside can be insered one at a time and nipples put into place. Finally go round the wheel tightenimg each nipple evenly. This is done with the wheel on a dummy axle with a guide pointer by the rim in order to get the wheel true in all planes. As a final check, spin the wheel while holding a pencil or something similar against the spokes and listen for a uniform pinging sound which will tell you that the spokes are all pretty much at the same tension. It took me about an hour and a half to do each wheel on my CB400f and run out was less than one sixteenth of an inch.  Incidentally I bought my stainless spokes from David Silver Spares and they were a perfect fit and only about £16 per set.

Also take note, the short bent section that goes on the hub has slightly different lenghts for the inner fed ones v's the outer fed ones. (I think the longer ones go from the inside out, you'll see, if its wrong it'll be a bit more strained trying to reach the rim.) Also take a photo of the wheel before removing the old spokes if you need to follow the pattern. also not only do you need to get the wheel to "stop wobbeling" but watch it's not all biased to one side or other.

Type them up and send them over (or post).
I'll put them in the FAQs.

Pictures would be cool if available... 8)

well... as i look at my notes from school, by my calculations, i have approximately 500 pages of written notes to go thru.  but, as i find time to prepare them for the web it will give me a refresher course for the 400 project   ;)  so please be patient but hopefully in the near future i will have "The MMI Experience" available to download on PDF.  ha haa, i sound like such an a$$... please note that i tend to be very sarcastic and it sometimes does not translate well via the net.

I like to make a diagram of how they came out.  That way I put the rim back on in the same direction, and the spokes facing the right way.

To tighten them I make all the nuts the same distance down on the threads while they are all still loose.  Then I rig up the rim in a stand or on the bike somehow.  Next I beggin tightening them 1/2 turn at a time 1 spoke at a time going around the rim till it starts getting tight.  By doing this method the rim seems to almost true and round itself.  To get the rim perfectly true and round you need to have some expierience in this.  If your rim needs to be trued and you can't figure it out go get it done at this point by someone who can.

buchanan... buchman what ever... They have a good deal on Chrome plated spokes.

If you want the original zink spokes + yellow zink spoke nuts a guy on E-bay sells some sets of repros for $45.00 each.

buccanan, or how ever you spell it, sells the sets for 89 front 105 rear, (us dollars) this may be because i am lacing 17" rims. but if anyone knows of a cheeper supplier please let me know...
thanks for all the help, i actualy have another cb500 that i can use as a template, i figured that i would lace them up get them sorta right and have someone finish them off... buccanan wants 96 dollars each to do it. seems expensive but that may change once i start doing it...
