I have spoken with Carpy via e-mail before.  To say that he is a courteous, helpful professional would be an understatement.  He rocks as much as his bikes do.  Shoot him a line, I'm sure he'd be willing to help support his own product.

On my CB450 I made a flat seat "pan" and attached it to the bike, then used Velcro to hold the seat down (see below)

Actually works really well, as once u sit on it the seat doesn't have a chance of moving..
I am sure something similar will work for your situation...

I spoke with Carpy last week regarding his Dunstall style seat pans that you're referring to.  I have a 75 400 SS that I want to put it on, so I asked him if he had ever put it on one, and was it feasible etc.  He said that he literally, just that week, had gotten a 75 400 SS from a customer to do a custom build, and he was going to attempt to put one of his Dunstall style seat pans on it.  So I'm waiting to hear back from him on how it went.  Depending on his response, I might be buying the same seat pan.
