cb450 article
« on: June 13, 2007, 12:25:02 PM »
Anybody see the article in motorcycle classics about the 71 cb450?
Good article.
I did not agree with there top speed of 95mph though.

Hard to believe that a 450 would only hit 95. :-\  If I remember right, a CB77 305 Super Hawk would do about 110! I had a pretty good running CB72 250 Hawk and I could run with a 305 but my buddy's Black Bomber could hold me off without a problem! :-\ ;D I would like to check out that article also. ;)

There may be a difference between actual speed and speedometer reading, I've seen old air cooled 250 Yamaha's that 'will do 130mph' and CB500 at 125 as well.
Our 1970 CB450 would never show more than 90 mph, even when doing 103 (my brother got the ticket, excessive noise, loud pipes don;t save lives ;D)
