CB750 STARTER MOTOR
« on: June 29, 2005, 02:59:50 AM »
The starter motor on my 72 cb750 has become very lazy of late and I suspect the starter motor brushes are worn. Charge and battery O.K. Has anyone any experience of changing and can they be changed without removal of starter motor. Hoping someone can help me?

I have done this job, but it was quite a while ago, so this is a memory stretch. I pulled the starter motor, and it's fairly easy to do, as there are only two 6mm bolts at the back of the motor, under the chrome cover holding the motor in. Lift the back end first and withdraw towards the right side of engine. The harder part is fishing the long wire from the solenoid out.
