Went to the powdercoater yesterday, because I'm thinking on powdercoating the engine, and they told me that they could even powdercoat parts polished as a mirror (I showed them the piece in the picture), and that the powder also adheres to it. It just has to be cleaned with acetone. They told me that they use a transparent powder for it. It could be good to protect the polished parts like alternator cover, camshaft cover and so on.
I don't know if it is something similar to ceramic coating, which is the method I was trying to use for these parts, but I could not find this method in Spain.
Back to powdercoating I've seen that they powdercoat polished surfaces on chairs, tables and office furnitures, but would it work on an engine? Anyone tried this?
