Some of you have visited it in person. Yes I do tours :). But with your permission I want to post some pictures.
The shop is located in my basement.
Here are the band saw and lathe

Excellent work Johnny and having seen it in person I can testify to Johnnys ingenuity! Just getting the lathe down those narrow twisting stairs to your basement was a magic trick in itself!! Looking forward to seeing more sandcast parts!

Have fun at the WER and have a beer with Axl for me.

More sandcast. Here are a few pictures of an attempt to cast a points cover.

Too bad about the points cover but its looking not too bad. How much aluminium do you need to use? Can you use recycled coke cans and the like? How do you melt it down?

The cover uses about 1/2 litre of liquid aluminium. I recycle coke cans and anything I can find on the scrapheap.
Look at the pictures I made an electic oven myself. Its 3000W and reaches 1000 deg/celcius. It takes about one hour to melt 1 A5 size curbicle of aluminium.
