Geez, if it wasn't so true it'd be funny, for you guys who haven't picked up on the story, the aborigines here (and particularly "up north" in the Northern Territory) have huge problems with alcohol fuelled domestic violence and sexual assault.
So in an attempt to modify their behavior, the government is banning alcohol and hard core porn in indigenous communities, and sending in the army and police to enforce the bans and protect the community.
In my humble opinion, the problem with Australia is that we have been on this guilt trip for taking away their land 200 years ago, so we've been way too soft on them for way too long.
There's been a push by the "do-gooders" here for the last few years for the government to apologise for "the stolen generation" whereby the government removed children from their parents many years ago in an attempt to give them a better life by placing them with white "foster parents".
The truth is that the problems that we're facing now were also common then, and repatriating the aboriginal kids was a genuine attempt to give them a better life, but once again, it was turned around by political rivals to score some cheap political points.
