Anybody have one of those universal cafe fairings?
« on: June 25, 2007, 08:10:43 PM »
How do they do keeping wind off you at 60mph-plus? I think they look great, but I would like to do some touring and don't want to sacrifice functionality for asethetics. Any thoughts?

I've got one on my 550 and it works great.  The only problem I've encountered is with the master cylinder.  It seems to hit on the fairing so it doesn't seem straight. I do a lot of highway driving so I live with it. If you were using a clubman bar or clipon I think it would be low enough and not an issue.

I have clubmans and the MC is still an issue. My first fairing (Viper style) cracked at the spot where the MC touched it. I bought a new fairing and attempted to mount it last night. I could not find a suitable position for the MC or the handlebars with the fairing on. In the end I decided not to go with the fairing.

Mine works like a charm, no issues with it whatsoever.

Does anybody have pictures of theirs on their bike? I'd really like to see a couple pictures of these.

I've got some horrible ape hangers on my bike right now and I'm just trying to figure out what will look and function the best. I just bought some stock bars, would the clubmans work better? How far will I be leaning over with those?

Well, you see where your turn signals are??

Put your hands at that level and come back about an 2-3 inches. And that's where clubman's hang.

Personally I like clips-ons and clubmans. Stock bars look A+ on Stock CB's ;)
