Hi from Ohio; rusty K4 and minty CB550F0
« on: June 26, 2007, 09:20:39 AM »
I've been a member for a while now, guess I could finally introduce myself.  I am the second owner of an original 1975 CB550F and my girlfriend's dad just gave me his 1974 CB750 that he purchased new when he returned from Vietnam.  The K4 has been under a tarp for 12 years and is very rough.  I plan to restore it to original with a budget of about $4000.  Upon completion I am going to give it back to him as a surprise and assume he'll give it back to me when he stops riding...

welcome,
looking forward to lots of resto pics of that K4.  and good move with future father in law, if you restored my bike and then gave it back to me, i might let you do what you wanted to my daughter.  i dont know if i'd give the bike back though, but best of luck and the experience will be rewarding in one way or another for sure.

Hey, another guy from Ohio alright!
If you're in Central Ohio, You should def. check out the vintage motorcycle days at Mid Ohio Sport Car Course in lexington.  Its at the end of July, there will probably be a bunch of us there, vintage racing, beer, camping plus you can check out the swap meet for spares and hard to find parts for your bikes.  Doesn't get much better than that.
check out the events section for more info.

Definately, welcome to the group!  There is quite a few of us around central Ohio.  If you are ever looking to hook up and go for a ride there are several of us that swing up to bike night at Quaker Steak and then grab a bit to eat.  Check us out at Ohio Cafe Racers.

Nice bikes!  Should be fun to resore!
