Making Seat Stencils - Need some measurements?
« on: July 11, 2007, 11:06:16 AM »
If anyone has a stock seat please measure the length and width of the over all logo on your seat and let me know. I have the mesurements for the smaller bikes like the sl175 and sl350 but I need mesurements for the 750 and 500

if no one else gets it to you, I'll measure it in the morning.

You want just overall height and total width of the complete logo?

Measurements off my 1971 K1 are: 9/16" x 5". Letters are 9/16" top to bottom and the entire length of the logo is 5" left to right. Hope this helps.

Will take note to make sure I get these right, just checked and that comes out a bit larger than the above one. Will let everyone know when they are available. I was thinking like $10 for them and you get 2 in an order just incase you goof the first one up. Nothing would suck more than getting one and messing it up and have nothing to fall back on when the project is at hand.

I come up with 5.32 x 0.693
letters 1.33 except for O and A which are 0.863 and 1.12 respectively everything in inches

measured accross curve and 'stretched' by the install, so actual measurements of the stencil may differ.

seat is presumed stock 74 750k

Ken.

If I measure mine with a metric scale it is 14mm x 131mm.
