;DFinally, got the bike started and running without too much difficulty. Turned out when I adjusted the valves the first time I was still too tight, after scratching my head and posting here a couple of times I decided to go back and recheck everything I had already done and sure enough, Oops. Goes to show don't assume anything. Thanx for all your help on the previous posts. Time to ride some and then start tackling the V45 Magna. Thanx again everybody.
