Lifelong dream may be a nightmare! 8-)
« on: July 04, 2007, 06:44:06 AM »
Greetings!

First I must say I'm thrilled to have found this site.  Looks like a place to spend as many spare moments as possible gleaning information.

At 49+ years old I've finally gotten my first bike.  It's a 1975 CB750F with only 6,200 miles.  Needs a bunch of TLC (OK, maybe more than just TLC!) and has some title issues, but it was free!

Looking forward to much interaction here as time goes forward.

For those "outsiders," the "pgh" at the end of my name is an abbreviation for Pittsburgh, PA.  Those from the 'burgh undoubtedly already knew this!  ;)

Maranatha!

Welcome Jim, and happy reading!!! Lots to be learned here for sure but the first thing you need to learn is that we are a bunch of voyeurs on here and want to see as many pics as possible so...she may be ugly now but a get a pic or 2 posted so we can see what you are dealing with...plus it will help as inspiration as you move forward with the project to be able to look back and see what you started with. That was a big mistake on my part...never took any before shots and not sure if I will get her to the after stage to be able to pics of her once completed!

OK, Dennis, I added a pic to my profile.  This is her "good" side from which she doesn't look too bad (unless you look close)!

Howdy and hi from California,

Always a good thing having a F rider here :)
I do understand the "get bike, fix bike, ride bike, fix bike, ride bike"
I have the '77 750F thats in my avatar. Fantastic 20 footer :) needs some tlc also but mostly good to go thanks to this forum.
Great group of guys and lots of knowledge about the bikes.

Thanks, Jerry.  You may be a bit biased!   :)

Dismantled, cleaned and reinstalled the carbs last week.  Started right up and runs great...that's one fix down!

Jim,
Born and raised in Johnstown PA.  Nothing like PA as far as I'm concerned.  Home of Iron City Beer and Sid the Kid.  I read the online issue of the Post Gazette every day.

P.S.  If you ever drive to Florida I have a '75 400F I need brought here!    ;D

Welcome,Jim! I thought I was bad, I just got my first bike (another F) last year at 35!  ;) Excellent choice and, like cben said, it don't look that bad. Mine looks pretty bad, but runs good. That's what's important. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum! Given the mileage, you got a sweet deal that you won't regret, and her good side doesn't seem that bad in terms of needing major work. Good on ya.
