Swarbick's Cr pipes - the things you do
« on: July 05, 2007, 07:31:07 PM »
Hi guys, a few pics of my very slow Cr project.
Bike upside down on a bench and working on getting the pipes right. You can see the areas of cuts where the pipes have been bent to fit. Less obvious, a couple of alterations to the headers to get them to fit Parallel to each other as they come down from the head

When I first saw the welds on the bends I thought it was a titanium exhaust and almost crapped myself, but I looked closer.  Still ultra cool and probably better than anything I'll slap on my CB :-\, but it would be even cooler if it were Ti.
What did that exhaust set you back?  Looks like a lot of work to get them fitted up right, but it will definitely put that right touch on any CR project.  Can't wait to see more progress.

WARNING THE FOLLOWING WILL INDUCE SEVERE DROOLING! ;D

very nice and where did you get them
The very nice picture of the GP bike (still cleaning up the drool) and the
pipe is Titanium. But what do you expect with those budgets

Andy, ours cost more than that and they only covered about 40 miles, perhaps there is no tax on exports.

No VAT on exports! (17.5% tax)

WOW!!!! Those are looking nice!!

Looks like you have a few nice bits(CR750 parts) in the background....cant wait to see the finished bike. Hell.....judging from the work you've done on the pipes....that bike will be pure eye candy.

Is that spelled with 2 "L's"?  ;D ;D ;D ;D   Heard somewhere you could save ink if you just spelled it with 1 "L"........sorry couldnt resist.

Thanks for pointing this out.  I came across Andy's site a while ago.  He is a few steps ahead of me on the CR build....lucky for me ;D  I get to benefit from the detailed how to pics.  I am positive the pipe work required to form the megas on these pipes will be the biggest part of the job.  No doubt Andy has done a great job so far and i only hope mine look as mice as his.  Luckily, I have a brother in law that welds for a living...so I'm sure to have nice looking welds.  My hack welding skills can't be trusted on pipes that cost this much!!!

Andy was at a race meeting somewhere in NZ and there was a guy there with a CB750 with a genuine set of CR pipes with the welded seams. Andy posted pics somewhere but I'm not sure where.
