Bike ID: Was this anyone on the board????
« on: July 06, 2007, 08:09:55 PM »
Was driving to work today on Hwy 171 in Louisiana, between DeRidder and Leesville, around 0920-0930.

Saw a small Honda with Missouri plates pulling a trailer with a Honda 750 modified into a Scrambles-style dirtbike in the back.  Fly yellow paint and "MX 750" on the sidecovers.  Engine blacked out with the headers cut off into drag pipes.  Rear shocks upper mounting point relocated lower on the frame, flattening the shocks.  I presume for more ground clearance and softer springing.  Stock gauges, forks, brakes and "K" warning light panel on the handlebar clamp.  Custom tank or one from another bike grafted on since the profile didn't look like stock SOHC anything.

Does anyone here have the "MX 750"?  Being that I'm getting into dirt riding more than road riding, I am intrigued.

Even if not, it WAS an interesting piece.

Where is that camera when you need it?? It makes the whole concept of a multi-functional digital device all the more appealing: cell phone, mp3 player and digital camera all-in-one....

GroovieGhoulie,

I know it caught your eye because old bikes like ours are not that common in Louisiana.  The bike you are talking about is not my bike...  I'm just chiming in because I can relate to how that bike caught your eye --> they just aren't that common down here.

Tsk, tsk, Louisiana is such a "Harley town"
