MN SOHC ride...?
« on: June 15, 2007, 09:40:56 PM »
Anyone in the area down for a ride? A nice saturday morning ride perhaps?

If anyone is willing to help coordinate I would be willing to do some leg work.

In fact, I'm willing to design and host a site dedicated to the cause. Maybe a few times a year? Maybe a new meet up- not dulanos- bobs- etc... once a month?

Let me know if anyone is interested. Even if no one responds I'm still going to get the ball rolling! I was at the Vintage show today and I was inspired to get to know some more folks in the area who are into this old bike biz. I'm a young kid looking to get out of the bar 'scene' and out with some folks on classic bikes!

Hey.  I am new to the forum, so sorry for the delayed response to this post, but I would be interested in going on a ride sometime.  I have some friends into vintage bikes, and we are "young" thirtysomethings.

You said that you were at the vintage show.  Was that the VJMC show at Kline?  If so I was there too.  Great show.  Are you a member of the VJMC?  We meet the second monday of the month at Village Bland in St. Anthony.  Great group of guys.

I am located in Rogers, MN.  (North of the cities.)  Lets try to plan something before the season ends.

The show was @ the fair grounds- http://www.vikingmc.org/ .

Do you meet at st. anthony on the river or in the city of st. anthony? I wouldn't mind meeting up there, too!

I'd love to organize another one as well. Starting out in the city perhaps...

The fair grounds was an antique show.  The VJMC show was a Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club show a few weeks earlier.  I didn't make it to the fair grounds.

Here is the link for the VJMC Minnesota Chapter.  We meet in the city of St. Anthony.  Here is the link:  http://www.trailpostdriver.com/vjmc-mn.html

Here is another link for a group in Minnesota.  I have not done a ride with them yet.  Just found them on the web today.

damn! sounds like I missed a good showing! So, would you be interested in joining up in the city? I would love to come along with you out there, but it would be great to have a little meet up here in MPLS/STPL as well.

I'd also be interested in trying to get a ride together.  I'd be open to times.  Starting or ending in the cities would be nice.

Well, it looks like this saturday we are going for a little jaunt. n8andles and I have been talking back and forth and we will be getting together in the AM. I know he has to work around 1PM, but we can always continue on after. I was hoping to meet up in the mpls area. Then we could maybe ride the river over to st paul and take a good leisurely ride. I'm not sure about the meet up point yet, but stay tuned.

A Fine Grind Coffee House
2038 Marshall Ave • Saint Paul, MN 55104
http://www.afinegrind.com/

This coffee shop is located right on Cleveland & Marshall in St. Paul- right over the river from Minneapolis- lake street turns into Marshall and it is right off 94. I know PDP is over in St Paul Park and this would be a good mid-point in terms of the cities. We could take off anywhere from here.

10 AM sound reasonable?

The more the merrier. Even if you folks can only show up and chat for a few it would be a good time to work something else out for another ride. Where, when and what works for the next one!
