I picked up this lil baby two weeks ago. Just got her running Sunday. Here are the facts.

4998 miles
No Rust
Aftermarket exhaust :{(
Paid $500

All I've done so far is change hoses, oil and sparkplugs and cleaned out the Carbs. Fired right up.

You got a heckuva deal.  Looks pretty darn clean for 500.

That's what I thought.  I'm not planning on selling it (don't tell my wife) but does anyone know what they are worth?  It does have a small scratch on the fuel tank, but that's really about it.

Sorry, Handyandy, I don't believe we will be able to add you to the list.  It just isn't right for some FNG to pop in here with a deal like that. :D

4998 miles?  NO RUST???  And $500?  Surely, you meant $2,500, right?  Or at maybe $1,500,since it has those junk pipes on it.

OK, here's the deal: We'll let you on the list, but you're gonna' be on probation for a while.  If you run into any more deals like that, you have to share with your friends on this forum, (especially me.)  ;) ;)

Okie,

Those pipes sound awesome.  I can't believe it.

BTW...  I had to take out my neighbors trash and cut their lawn for 3 years, and do an electrical service upgrade just to bid on the thing.  His stupid kid thought it sucked because it's not a Harley. I got the last laugh.

Glad i found you guys!!!! Great Site.
Here's my 10/'72.  got it last Month for $1k. 9093 miles.  Purchased new in '73 by a member of the Shriners group, painted white over the original metallic olive, and used as a parade bike.  It had an ugly, but good cond. front fairing, highway bars, cracked hard bags, and all the lights were wired to one alternate switch (on top of the headlight can) so all the lights would flash for the kiddies watching the parades. Stripped all of that junk off(stored the useable stuff for another day) and here's what i'm left with.  Hope the pic comes thru. Only rust is on the bottoms of the 4-2 exh. Seat in near new cond.
Carbs rebuilt, new volt reg. & batt, and we're off and running!

Thanks in advance for all the tidbits of knowledge!

Flybox1,
Welcome.  Nice looking bike. So, are you planning on selling that fairing?  I am thinking about adding one to my bike.

Finally getting around to registering,

I bought 3 CB350/fours, in varying states of repair. I paid $950 total.
They are:
  • 1972 Candy Bachus Olive, running rough 11k miles
  • 1972 Flake Matador Red, runs quite well, 12k miles
  • 1973 Parts bike, sprayed brown (hideous), very intact, turns over, no carbs or sidecovers, 22k miles

I'm still friggin' around with the running bikes almost every day, these are the first antique bike I've owned, minus the seized Bridgestone 50 thats been sitting in the yard since my tenth birthday.  ;D

Pics included...

I suppose I should add my 1974 CB350F to the registry, as I am intending to license it next season.  Except for the mufflers, tires, and aftermarket mirrors - its all stock and original.  (Oh, I also replaced the battery and resprayed one fork ear and the side covers.)  The odometer registers just over 5,000 miles.  I am the third owner as far as I know.

Something that doesn't seem original but has been on it for what appears a very long time, is a gold triangular striping on the top of the tank.  It covers under and around the cap area and appears to have been sprayed onto the tank with tape masking the sides.  The gold paint colour doesn't quite match the side stripes.

Hiya all. Thought i should pop in and register my bikes...  2 - 1973 cb350F's, one red, one olive. The red one is about to be stripped down and  made new again, The olive one is completely original (minus pipes) and is a daily pleasure ride. I hope to  be able to pose those questions that come up to the group, and answer those that I've already worked out.
