I cracked open my headlight bucket today and noticed several bullet connectors which were either connecting two wires together or 3 wires together.

Werid part is that I didnt find any wires with a bullet style male end that could have fallen out of them. Only 3 female connectors.

1 Pink female wire which was empty.
1 Connector which is ment to connect 3 wires but only had 2 black wires in it.
1 Connector which is ment to connect 3 wires but only had 2 green wires in it.

Ill go look over my Clymer now. Its hard to read because the wiring diagram is for UK and US models and it says "There are differnces between UK/ US models"

Thanks guys!

Pink?  The black is switched +12volts(only energized when key switch is on) and the green is ground.  Granted, my experience and manuals on hand is limited to 550K, 750K, and 350F bikes, but pink isn't a color used.  And all 3 manuals are the same as far as colors are concerned.

I had a pink wire left over on my 500T. Some manuals show it on the diagram and it just ends, some don't. May be for some other markets. No power to it. Fagetabotit

Are you talking about the ignition switch?  You should be able to check it without pulling it.  Using an ohm meter, check for continuity at the plug. Again, I am going from 350.550, and 750 manuals, but they should be the same.  Red is from the battery, and black supplies power to the bike for everything- ign, lights...

switch ought to go downwards after you have removed the idiot light cluster and the bolts /screws underneath

The pink wire is a mystery, but having open females on multi connectors is common. You can only have single females or triple and quad ones... triples are fairly rare on Hondas. So if there are 2 connections to be made, you have to have an extra socket or two. Sometimes ground wires have been removed, there are usually ground wires to at least one and usually both of the headlight shell holding bolts, these often get forgotten when reinstalling the shell. On some bikes skipping those green wires means that any electrical ground required for instrument and idiot lights or handlebar switches and even the horn run through the steering head bearings, a bad idea.

Thanks guys!

I went to the junkyard and pulled several sets of controls and looked at a few buckets. None of them match up to my CB500T.

I did however get the bike running. Barely. Check out my new thread.
