HELP CB750K2 ENGINE PART REQUIRED! DISCONTINUED!
« on: April 07, 2005, 08:53:53 AM »
Hey all,
I am trying to rebuild my CB750K2 and I need a new Set Ring A - part no. 13495-300-000 - this is the half-ring that sits in between the lower cases and holds the mainshaft gear bearing in place (see #1 in the Tarnsmission parts diagram of the manual). I tried to order from partsfiche.com AND my local Honda dealer but both say the part has been discontinued. Does anyone have a spare engine lying around that may have this ESSENTIAL part?? I managed to get a spare bearing ordered and now just need the set ring so I can start to re-assemble. Willing to pay whatever for it....normally costs $4 but let me know if you have it and we can work something out - Im desperate! Or any ideas on where else I could try but if its discontinued Im guessing no other company will sell it :-(
Thanks in advance,
Cheers
Andy in Boston

I just checked Servicehonda.com and inserted your part number on their interactive parts search and they "daim" to have it. Be aware though their parts database is not always accurate. You should find out if it is correct fairly quickly though. I ordered a number of small items the other day and they actually called me to tell me one of them, a $0.96 bolt had been discontinued, not bad for service, but not very cost effective, they could have just noted that on the shipping slip. Good luck.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Hey Andy try https://www.westernhillshonda.com/ according to their vintage parts data base they have thiis part in stock as a matter of fact according to them they have 25 of them. $3.95 each. Try this link       https://www.westernhillshonda.com/cgi-bin/findpart.exe?T1=&T3=&T2=300&D1=All&B1=Search     it should take you right to their parts inventory. Good Luck

Thanks guys for the help and Ill be emailing you Brent after this - thank you! For reference...I emailed David Silver Spares last night before leaving work and got a reply this morning - they have the set ring for 0.80 pounds or $1.40 each :-) Thanks for all the help I really appreciate it as Im very excited about re-assembling my engine....first time Ive done it myself and the bike ahs sat for 3 years like this (in my defense I was in the UK at the time!).
Cheers
