Have a look/listen here... (you need real-audio to see/hear it).

I've never heard a bike with the original pipes- does anyone know if they sound similar to this?

Where did you get aftermarket 4 into 4's?  Do you (or anyone) know if anyone makes them for 550K's?  I have a 1975 with aftermarket 4into 2's, but would love to get a 4 into 4 even if it is not original.

Got them from MIVV via David Silver Spares.

They may well do exhausts for the 550... have a look!  :)

Would love to get some film of my bike outside.. as yet haven't been able to.

I'll get a recording of the stock 4x4 's on my 350f as soon as it stops raining, but those aftermarket silencers sound great.

This is what my OEM silencers sound like. My wife says it sounds like a lawn mower, but I think the mower sounds better.

Hey they don't sound that bad. Maybe just a little quieter than mine, but that might have something to do with the garage echoing the sound around and the fact that I have small holes drilled in mine at the connecting point to let all the condensation out!! ;)

The garage would make them sound better and louder. Silencer #2 and #3 have small nipples on the underside at the lowest point. I have seen water drip from these holes on occasion.

Wow. Thanks for the sounds, guys. If I can ever get around to it, I'll post a movie of my 350f. It's got a kerker 4-1 header and a straight through (with fiberglass packing) reverse-cone megga. Pretty bad-ass if I do say so myself. But nothing like an open 4-4 system you can now hear at AHRMA races. What sort of air filters are you all running? They say intake noise makes up a big portion of the overall sound.

loonymoon,

If you don't mind me askin', how much did those silencers run? I have a 350f with really nice headers, but the aftermarket silencers are getting pretty crappy looking... doesn't help that the previous owner spilled battery acid on one of them, promptly removing the chrome in that area...

Those things are nice looking!

They do have the CB500 pipes but curiously it states 1976 and later years. 1976 CB500 was a twin (not CB550) but the diagram is a four system. Mufflers are the same size as the CB350 Four unit but angled differently. Both are diffferent from stock, looking more like my 1983 CB1000C.
1969 Honda CB750, two 1970 CB750, two 1972 CB750K2, 1971 CB500, 1975 CB550, 1976 CB400F, 1968 CL450, 1973 CL450, 1974 CB450, 1970 1/2 SL350K1, 1971 SL350K1, 1972 SL350K2, 1972 CL350, 1972 CB350, 1983 CB1000C, 1976 Kawasaki KZ900A4, 1976 KH500A8, 1979 KZ400B, 1983 ZN1300, and so on and so on...

Jeez, sync yer carbs guys!  They sound totally off.  A well-synced 350F has a whirring sound like a sewing machine, not farty at all...
