If you can stay away from the long term pain (two years is not longterm ;) ), go for it.  I have chronic pain in my back and legs from an accident back in 93.  Hind sight is 20/20, I would have dropped the box and broke my foot instead of screwing my back.  Best of luck, and it sucks that your WC wont cover the renovation of the shower.

I totally understand, I have heard stories like that countless times. I have Workmans Comp insurance through AIG, so while they don't like paying so long, they are really constrained to do so since it did happen at work and I have plenty of witnesses, lolol.

What really cracks me up is that my doctor is AIG approved, so I have the best doctor helping me out I could have hoped for. AIG sent me to him in the first place so they can hardly bat an eye when they keep getting billed.
Actually, with starting luck like that (WAY better than ours has been with doctors), you might have a good chance! At least, yours considered first that the replacement might fail BEFORE he just installed and got paid.

That's a GOOD sign!  ;D

I couldn't do anything like that anyway, the showers are in the main park building, not mine exclusively, so any changes are subject to the owners approval. Not a viable option, but there is always the chair. I'll just make do as I always do.

Well, got the letter from the Doctor today and it isn't good news for me. Things are a lot worse than I thought they were.

He has requested not one but two more surgeries on my ankle and further tests on my shoulder. My ankle is degrading much faster than I though, it is down by about 20% bone mass. All of the cartilage is gone and it is losing bone daily. I am looking at a couple more major surgeries in the very near future. My shoulder is showing considerable damage from the Xray so the Dr. is requesting an open MRI for that to determine what to do about that, but he thinks surgery is likely on that as well.

More to come within a week when I talk to my Dr. again. Cross your fingers for me.
