Powder Coating on Plastic?
« on: July 11, 2007, 06:42:04 PM »
Hey All,
I was just wondering if there is a way I can get my plastic pieces on my GL1000 powder coated?
Is there a special way to do it with plastic?

No.  The powdercoated item has to be put into an oven. You would have a puddle of plastic in the bottom of the oven.  For plastic parts try Krylon Fusion paint.  It is made especially to bond to plastic, and it can flex without breaking off.

+ isn't powder coating an electro static process requiring the item to be electrically  charged, very difficult with plastic.

its a combination of electricity and heat used...the electricity is used to coat the item with the powder and the heat is used to cure it like paint..
