Red hand for a cracked casing
« on: July 16, 2007, 09:37:33 AM »
While cleaning the chain grime off my 74 750 in the forward sprocket well I noticed the casing is cracked and pushed in about 2 mm. This must have happened when the chain broke a year or so ago and I'm just now getting around to putting a new chain on. Has anyone used Red Hand or a similar epoxy for fixing cracks in the casing? I work on ships and we've used it alot for cracks on pumps etc. The alternative is to get a new casing (I have a 1971 750 parts motor) and swap everything out. Thanks for any input you have.

I have used JB weld successfully. Just make sure the case is super clean before you put it on.
