Tail light Pictures Needed!!
« on: July 10, 2007, 02:33:36 PM »
I've been debating on what tail light I should buy to replace my tail light that I currently have.

I've seen some really nice ones from the Auto parts stores and there pretty easy to install, but I'm looking for something that would look very nice.

The one I have on currently does not illuminate the entire lens. It's how the manufacturer placed the light bulb reflector.

Also, any pictures posted........ I'd appreciate if there easy on us dial-up folks!! ;D ;D ;D

Thanks!

Which bike, and what look are you going for?

I think ye olde Lucas* light is pretty good for the cafe look.  You'll find a few variations on them, so keep in mind how/where you want to mount them.

*Usually sold as Lucas-Style or something like that...

Think outside the box.

Stock R6 tailights for about 5 or 10 bucks on e-bay.  Plus they're LED and bright as heck!

That wouldn't work with my build, but it's a great idea.

Here's an R6 light on eBay.   No bids - opens at $4.99

Shipping shouldn't be too bad to Ohio (from PA).

Just throwing an idea out there.  There's a lot of taillights that are sold for cheap because people "upgrade" to the integrated turnsignals on modern bikes.  I really didn't like the look at first but it's grown on me.  I mostly bought it because it was a stock LED and it was dirt cheap.  If anything, maybe it will get people to think outside the box when shopping for taillights.

Definitely like the R6 tail light ;) ;)

Though I would need to know the width and height....... Do they even supply a wattage with these led tail lights??

Since I really needed to ride and I couldn't wait more than a week, I picked this one up for $10.56 including tax.

It's pretty darn bright!!

And as you can see, I really need to fiberglass the rear hump. My sowing skills are terrible :( :(

That subject will be saved for another time.

Thanks for the help,
-LL

Seaweb - hope that's an old picture.  Otherwise, you need to update your tag!

Just a friendly reminder...

If you want it to be brighter you can open up your brake light and put some LED's around the stock bulb or remove the bulb and put all LED's

places to get LED's
