That's really nice work but I also am glad I'm not polishing that stuff.
I've seen pitted chrome on aluminum.

so anyone have a formula for nice polishing techniques???

Got it going yet? Winters  coming!!! :'(

Two more weeks.  I am waiting on an oil cooler from Terry and the engine is still in Mike's shop.
I installed new wiring, coils, Dyna 2000 harness, etc. to the frame over the past few days.  I am trying to figure out a good way to mount the horn once the cooler is installed.  I want it near the stock location, but that may not be possible.  I may have to fab a bracket to hang it from the cooler itself.  Once the engine is installed, I need to get a length of breather hose and mount a breather element somewhere.  I am not just going to throw this thing together.  I rather take my time and do it well.  I plan to enter it in a bike show here this Septemeber.

I'm going thru the same thing with cooler/horn location issues. Got any pics/ideas? I made a bracket today but my wife is out of town with the camera!! Anyone have any good pics of a cooler install? I have my horn mounted under the neck on the frame and am mounting the cooler under the horn. I'll get pics asap!! I've had my engine out 3 times this summer because of aftermarket valve seals!!!! I hope to hell no one else has used these with a .370 lift cam!!!!!! the seals are too high for anything more than a stock lift cam!!!!!!! OH the agony!!!

I know Terry was using two different types of coolers when I bought mine. I went to Lowes and bought a piece of 1/4" x 1" x 3 feet aluminum bar. I then made sandwich brackets to fit the top and bottom of the cooler. That gave the cooler a solid mount and allowed me to use spacers to keep the cooler away from the frame's powdercoat and any possible wear damage to the cooler's fins. The rubber strap mounts are used in two sizes - those on the sides (visible here) fit around the downtubes and bolt through as shown. The top ones are smaller and fit around the horizontal tube welded between the downtubes. This keeps the cooler rubber mounted and it's not going anywhere.

This photo is old, but shows the stainless braided lines and fittings available from Jegs and the stock horn mount. Since this was taken, I did the Carillo install and had the top and bottom aluminum pieces milled with curved edges at the top and round reliefs cut just above each exhaust header for a custom appearance and give a lot of clearance above the pipes to keep away heat. I also replaced the longer bottom bolts/nuts with shorter polished, stainless pieces.

Terry is supplying me with a CB900F cooler and adaptor.  he is making up a bracket which will allow me to mount it to the frame.  If I can mount it below the horn that would be great.  The 900F cooler is much smaller than yours, so it may work.
