RTFM is only applicable after you've already screwed it up!

hey now!!! Give The Guy a Break!!! You know how much that manual can make you run around in circles.I do agree that you should at least have a small amount of mechanical knowledge to do this #$%*.If ya don't...then pay the man!!!!Some of these people that post would just as soon park their ass in a lawn chair and let you build their bike for them. Then on the other hand (THERES WARTS!!) there are guys that are trying to do something to the old 30 year old scoot that just don't make sense and I for one would do my best to help them out.Hope you get er runnin....Later.....mrbreeze

Still a shop manual really helps.
Will concede that some of them suck, but hey, thats what this board is for! ;D

Well I have an update.  I replaced the D7ES plugs that were in there with the D8ES.  I just re-timed it and now it idles with the choke out.  It'll run after a while with the choke in as long as I'm giving it some extra throttle but if I let it snap back it'll sputter and die.  Gotta figure this one out now.

Well another update, I finally got it running well enough to ride.  Thanks for all your help in this thread.  I'll be bugging people in the tech forum now for help.  ;D

It's awesome to finally ride it though, I think I'm hooked.

Welcome to the club

My bike ran like sh1t, pulled the carbs, cleaned them, set them, the bike ran, WOW.  The carbs where cleaned at someother time but the o-rings where toast.  Order a complete rebuild kit for all four carbs from http://www.oldbikebarn.com/, now after waiting for 4 days for the parts to be shipped, they are now 20% off.  Just my luck.

As soon as the kits arive, off come the carbs and another good cleaning.
