Topic: Clubman bars hitting tank

I was wondering if anyone elsee had the problem of the clubman bars hitting the tank when turned.  I've got a 74 cb550 and i cant reposition the handle bars without the hittin.  Does anyone make a riser of some sort?

goto your local hardware store and buy small 1/8" or 1/4" hose clamp.  Put them around your steering stops on the lower triple tree.  This will give you the needed clearance.  You'll loose just a little turning radius but it won't affect real riding at all.  I've done this with my clip ons and have no issues.

One way to resolve that issue is to limit the distance the bars will turn.  Some have drilled and tapped a hole in the steering stop tabs and screwed in a small bolt to keep the bars from turning as far as they normally would.  Others have gone the easier route and just slipped a short piece of rubber hose over the tab to get the same result.

That's what I did with mine. One of those screws was a B*tch to get in there though...
