rearset spacing on 750
« on: July 16, 2007, 06:22:53 PM »
Hello,

I have sourced the cbr 929 rearsets.  I am preparing to mount them using welded on tabs.  Could those of you that have gone with rearsets please provide me with approximate dimensions relative to the stock peg location?  ie. 6 inches back and 1 inch up.

Thanks
Dave Hughes

Peg position for me depended on the seat height and the position of the handlebars.  I was able to sit on the lowered seat, and place my hand on the bars with the bike on the centerstand.  I was able to then position my feet where it was most comfortable, and was then able to get a good idea where to place the pegs.  You may want to have someone give you a hand with this to get some measurements for you while you sit on the bike.  Just remember that not all bikes have the same seat height and bar position, and what's comfortable for one bike may be totally wrong for another.  Work out the dimensions with YOUR bike to see what's right for you.

Thanks for the reply Steve.  The problem is the bike is completely disassembled.  I was just trying to get  a ball park on how the guys were setting them up.  I have looked at many pictures and they appear to be between 4 and 6 inches back and 1 or 2 inches up.

Thanks again
Dave

Dave,

I'm in a similar situation; my ZXR1200 rearsets have been sitting on a shelf for a few months now. I need to permanently mount the tank before I can mount the seat in its final location, which will determine where I weld the rearset brackets.  ;D

Just as a reference though, mine are going to be roughly 1" above and 1" back from the splined rear brake shaft location on my '70 CB750K1.
