Sorry Chris, Just got in from being out for a bit and had this info in my inbox of my email and I just had to share with those who might be interested. ;)  I'd been checkin out Mr Norms deals since Wayyyyy Back. You could get all kinds of combinations in different cars. Back then, I'd nearly have killed for one of those cars and now days, I couldn't afford the insurance or the gas!!! ::) So, I just dream!! ;D

I hear ya, Chris. Hope you have a good time working on that T Bucket. I could enjoy building something like that myself. My "Custom Bike Hauler" is a Converted Wave Runner Trailer, to pull behind my Grand Caravan (when I manage to get a trailer hitch for it). ! ::) ;D

I learned to drive in a '69 Dart with a slant 6. It wasn't until long after it met the crusher that I realized Darts are cool.

Here Bill - the A925 project. Started as a come back to Ford's 427 SOHC motor. Bill France stepped in and laid out the 500 rule that 500 examples had to be sold to the general public in street driven vehicles. It almost was.......

Yum. Yum. Yum. Is there anything more uniquely American than the muscle car?

Why? Because we can.

Whoa 6pk, I consider myself fairly well up on the early Mopar stuff and I missed that motor, somehow. ??? I mean, I knew about the small block that was built for Indy. I think it had Weslake heads. I'd post a picture of it, but I can't find anything on it (not putting in the right info, I guess). I like these Production motors too! ;D ;) 8)

Also like the 440 6pk, but haven't found a suitable picture yet. Also had a picture of a 426 Max Wedge motor, but it didn't come out. I'll be Back! ;D

A few shots for ya Bill.

A 440+6 in an 1971 E body

a 440+6 in a 1969.5 runner

A maxie

And here's a few of the ball stud hemi that was started in 1970. Everyone knew emissions were going to kill the party so some novel ideas were tossed around. The ball stud was to replace the wedges and hemi as the big block option. Was to be in 400 and 444 cubic inch varieties, displacement changes gained by a crank swap with more stroke. The thing turned out to be as heavy and complex as a hemi, drank fuel like crazy and made the power of a wedge. So development was stopped.

6pk, you just seem to keep coming up with stuff I didn't know about and I am starting to wonder it there's any more! ::)

I have to throw in something that I think is interesting about the 413 Wedges. In the owner's manual (of a Mopar with the 413 Factory Performance motor w/ 13 to 1 comp and looking like that 426 Max Wedge motor) was a statement that read,"Limit Wide Open Bursts To 13 seconds!" and the thing is, you were through the quarter mile in less than that!

If memory serves me correctly, that would be "Dandy" Dick Landy in that photo with the Prototype "Ball Stud" Hemi.
