Photography, Art buff help needed
« on: July 16, 2007, 06:44:50 AM »
I'm looking for a B&W photo;  European (France or Italy?), a samll city intersection with narrow stret of either brick or cobblestone.  A pretty girl is crossing the street from right to left while a guy (either leaning agaisnt or sitting on a Vespa scooter) is giving her a wolf-whistle.

Does anyone know the picture ("image" in pretentious art-speak), who it's by, where I could find an on-line copy?

Is this the one you're thinking of?  It sort of fits that description.

Wow! Let me put you to the test then. I've been looking for a photo, from WWII, of an actress having lines drawn down the back of her legs so it looks like she's wearing stockings (WWII shortage). I think it was Ann Miller. I haven't been able to find it anywhere on the 'Net, so far.

Thanks!

I'm at work right now, but I'll see if I can find it during lunch. :)

Spent over an hour looking.

Bad news: I couldn't find it.
Good news:  I found this...

Well, a lot of these pictures that are coming up in my search are going to end up getting me in trouble at work, so it'll have to wait until I get home! :D :D

Well, those are in the same vein, but just not the one I'm looking for. I had it in a book that I thought was entitled "The Pulitzer Prize Winning Photographs." I can't find that either.

If I remember correctly, she's standing on her Hollywood patio, looking over her shoulder, and a man is drawing the lines.

I'm getting blocked out or something... I try to post a picture the size of a postage stanp and it says it's too large.  If I go back, it says I already posted.  What the heck is going on?

UE, posting a pic of any size by hosting on this forum's server is a problem right now, presumably a space issue. Glenn is trying to do something about it. In the meantime though, pics have to be hosted externally (i.e., Photobucket, etc.) and then pointed to using the [ img ]....[ /img ] delimiters.

OK, well here's a photobucket link.  I'm in outer space here... Don't know what will happen.  Seems like this has gotten to be too big a deal, but I just thought these pictures had a strong relationship.  I just wanted to see them together.
Thanks again for the help.

Glenn has just, temporarily, resolved the space issue. If possible, folks might still try to host them externally if they can.
