69'-70' Wiring harness
« on: July 18, 2007, 03:19:17 PM »
Hi all,

So i picked up a 76' 750k and what seems to be a 1969-70 wiring harness.  Since I am removing the horn, signal buzzer, and clutch switch anyway im cool with the simplified wiring harness.  My question is that the trun signal switch from the 76' has a few extra wires for what i assume are a tad different bulbs in the signals .  Do I have to add these extra wires in order for the turn signal switch to work?  On the earlier harness the switches are much more simplified.

Thanks,
Jay

The 76 has signal running lights on all the time, and a dfferent plug for the key switch. If you change to 69/70/71 handlebar switches it'd work ez. Look at a color coded wire diagram in a shop manual to compare in detail.

Just dont connect the extra wire but do insulate them individualy. Key switch may be more problematic tho
