New 600 hornet or old 900 hornet
« on: July 19, 2007, 04:51:43 AM »
Hi Guys, Thinking of replacing my suzuki sv650s, with a naked.

The new 600 hornet looks good but it is almost the same price as a 900 hornet now. with a bit of haggling they could probably be got for about the same price.

power outputs are not too different, although the 900 will be much torquier, however the 600 is a good bit lighter.

what do you all think ::) ::)

Go the 900. Or check out the Suzuki Bandit 1250. Not completely naked, but a third again more engine for less money.

Have to be honest, dont like the bandit, cant put my finger on why but I think the frame looks a little cheap. My Brother in law is a Honda mechanic. He is biased but he says Honda are the best built. What about Kawasaki z750 ???

Have you considered just converting to the naked version of your bike?  All the parts are readily available, and you might be able to trade your fairing, etc. to someone who wants to switch to faired.

Thought about it, but want more power, and more importantly an inline 4  :)

No substitute for cubes. Go 900.

I rode a demo CBF600 which has more or less the same engine. It was buzzy and vibrated badly at 70mph. Didn't like it.

Tried the CBF1000 - good bu dull.

Bought a Triumph!
