It looks as if Andy was too modest to put a link up to his great website. Scroll half way down page one and read all about how to paint an engine.

You are too kind  :D

My Cr motor's effort havent been tested yet !

I didn't want to paint the assembled engine because I'm afraid that when I started to do maintenance work on it, like adjusting the valves, the paint around the covers would crack, flake and rub off from the wrench when they were initially removed. Same with side covers. Also I didn't think that Honda painted the barrels. Painting them will cause them to retain heat.
Although the motor sure looks great that way. I've just painted the side covers because I didn't want to split the case. I'm really not satisfied with this either. My paint is very bright silver and not like original, but it still looks nice.

Got frame back from powder coating yesterday....looks great.   Just finished putting the engine back in.  Managed to do it by myself.  Was actually a lot easier than I expected.......here are a few pics of the method I used.

What is the best next step for assembly?   Front forks, swingarm, or wiring harness??

Thx,
Doug

now i need to paint my engine...that thing is NICE.
I say swingarm,,then of course your new tapered head bearings ;D/trees/forks,coils /electrics, hold off on the harness until late in the game,
you will be fighting with it.
if you haven't,  It is prime time to clean/inspect/replace any terminals on that harness, the one off of my 71' 500 had some NASTY terminals. It has made a world of difference.
Get som Di-electric grease for re-assembly.
Don't cry too much when you have to remove some of that nice powder for a good grounding spot ;D
post the progress.....
