Box for Electrical Components & Tools
« on: July 19, 2007, 08:35:18 PM »
I have my mechanical tools well organized in Craftsman tool boxes; however, my collection of electrical components and tools was annoyingly spread out among bins, boxes and component trays until I found this cool box at Home Depot:

I thought it reasonably priced at $20, and I was so excited about getting all my stuff in one place that I thought I'd post pics. The sides fold down easily for access to the two component bins. Unfortunately, the walls in these bins are not adjustable. I had to do a bit of cutting to get my tools to fit in one side. (Note to self, safety glasses aren't just for working metal.) The bottom three draws are single drawers that run the width of the box (14" - 36cm), and they have 2 removable dividers each. The top draws on each side are about 4" - 10 cm wide.

The "Where's Waldo" folks will spot the vintage japanese bullet connectors. ;-)

It's available at Home Depot, although mine was branded "WorkForce" instead of "Stanley."

But what about the General Foods International Coffee? Suisse Mocha?  :D :D :D

That's a cool box. I have my connectors in little bins on the wall. Keeps it organized, but can be a PITA to go back and forth.
