Hell-O from Indiana!
« on: April 28, 2007, 07:07:08 AM »
My name is Matt.  I own two 750k's- a '76 that I'm always riding and a '78 that I'm fixing up while transforming into a cafe. I may be eventually converting the '76 to a chopper.
I recently met some Ton-Up cafe type folks in Indianapolis and couldn't be happier as I'm always wrenching or riding these things.
A big thumbs up to this site and the people herein as I have found that it contains a higher percentage of useful information for the DIY inclined.
=Rock out and keep it rollin'

Sorry about the delay- the last time I had checked this post there was only on reply (a long time ago I know) but I took it as a lack of interest and decided to simply read allot of other people's posts.

I have a hard time posting on this site because when I find something I could give at least a half-informed comment on- it's already done really well in the FAQ or someone much more knowledgeable than me has already answered it.  I have to admit that this may be the result of my areas of interest as I am basically going straight to the tech stuff all the time- perhaps a bad habit in a social sense.

So, on the social note, I know at least 5 guys within 50 miles of Indy that have SOHC and I help keep rolling with my limited mechanical knowledge in exchange for beers and the like -and I think it would be a good idea to organize a ride or at least some type of social gathering sometime before old man winter takes the fun out of the year.
-Possibly a ride around the Brown county area in the fall?

On a personal note- I sold my '78 to my buddy (who lives in Indy)  in order to get him rolling but part of the deal was an engine swap- so now I have a '76 with a '78
k engine and I'm really giving the body the cafe treatment.  So- I will get pictures up ASAP so that anyone interested can be sated.

  -Rock out.

Hey demnosvas, feel free to post before/during/after pics. They usually draw some attention if you want to share what you're doing, plus you'll likely get some decent suggestions. The folks here love to see work in progress.

I feel the way you do in that so many folks here have already answered questions I might have. On the other hand, I've documented up a couple of things as how to's. Some things have been discussed, but not written up as step-by-step instructions with pictures.

By no means am I telling you that you should post anything, I just wanted to kick out some ideas. :-)

Either way, it's good to know you're still around.
