What on earth is this Franken-bike?

Listed as a 550 - airbox etc. make it look like it is a 550.  However, what's with the engine?  I don't recognize the head/clutch and the left side is different too.  Smaller engine?  400?  And what about the rear footpegs?  Is that a 400F swingarm - maybe even a frame?

Funny tank and sidecovers too.  Very odd.  Would be nice to know what the tank is though - always nice to have an alternative that just slips on - could look kind of interesting if done right.

350 tank
sidecovers are different though
engine looks like a 350 or 400 since they look (nearly) identical

That's a 400 engine, unless someone has done some weird mutation experiment with a 350 and a 400. The 350 has an external clutch activator lever, the 400 has it under that triangular cover seen in the picture.

I agree the tanks a 350 but the engine is not. The seat and handlebars maybe from a 350 but the clocks are a 400. Frame and side panelsl look like a 400's.

Well, I think the conclusion is it is a CB400F with a 350 tank.  I let the seller know that was the likely configuration and that they might have better luck selling it as a CB400F (and if they took more flattering pictures of it).

Hmm, says he put a lot of work into it. I pulled the first pic down and manipulated the levels to peek into the shadows..revealing. There is a good deal of work to be on it. If he put a lot of work into it, it wasn't in the cosmetics dept. I believe there's reason the photos were taken in shadows.
