The motorcycle fairy came in the night!
« on: July 19, 2007, 08:22:09 AM »
OK- I should have said "visited"...
This is what my Chief turned into; '52 R67/2.  Doing a little fine-tuning, but the engine runs great, and the tranny is possibly the smoothest shifting Beemer I've experienced (rather weird, that).

Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

Sweet!!!  Here in D.C., there was a courier co. that used /2s for about 25 years.  They up and sold them all in '85 and bought Rebel 250s and within 3 years were out of business.  The Beemers were said to have MILLIONS of miles EACH.

Looking at that makes me proud to own my 1975 R75/6.  What an amazing lineage of bikes, with a remarkable consistency in design philosophy and engineering evolution.

That's  8) 8) 8) Paul, reminds me of a bike my boss had in the early 60s.  I think it was a tad older as it had the front brake and clutch leavers coming out of the ends of the bars and pointing inwards.  I take it being a Beeeemer fan you will know what I am talking about. ;)

No. I hate old things.  Quite bothersome, actually.  Tried to bean the dam fairy but she was too quick.

I'm needing to use emory on the left slide.  No lights.  Runs good though- until the slide sticks.
Need to know if he had 1 or 2 cyclinders to be more exact, but the first obvious choice would be an R12.  I imagine there were quite a few left lying around after the war.
