Pics from Waseon OH Vintage bike meet
« on: July 23, 2007, 06:59:11 AM »
Went to the meet but didn't run into any forum members, maybe next week @ Mid-OH.  I only saw a handful of jap bikes, mostly harley :-\, but still a good time with cool people.  Here are some of the more interesting bikes at the show. Enjoy.

Will Do.  Should be a good time.  Hell, the next 2 weeks will be sweet!  Vintage racing and superbike racing the following week.  The the campgrounds at the superbike races get crazy at night.  I'm not sure if I'll be able to post those pics here.  T and A, all over the place. ;D

Peace.

+1 on the Vincent.

I'd like to see someone riding that chopper. The handlebars look unreachable. Thanks for sharing!

This is an incredible meet, and the people are great! Two years ago, the SOHC4 (Ko) was inducted as an antique, so can be judged at the show. I really wanted to go this year and to ride in with our 28 member band of SOHC4 Michigan, but (as usual) couldn't go at the last miniute!

While I enjoyed most all of the bikes that were shown, I'm kinda partial to the Royal Enfield 500 Single and the BSA Spitfire Scrambler. My Grandfather had a 55' Indian Woodsman Similar to the Enfield (the Woodsman had a slightly different gas tank, front fender, quick removable lights and an upswept exhaust). Also my Grandfather sold both brands in his shop. So, those 2 bikes caught my attention. Thanks for posting them.

                                  Later on, Bill :) ;)

Sam, only thing I can see is that it looks like the Japanese type with the double action linkage.

"YOUNG" William? I wish! Cause, if I WAS young, these SOHC Hondas would not be as old!!!! BTW Sam, last time I looked, you and I are the same age buddy! ;D ;)

Take care Sam,  Bill :) ;)

Sure am glad I stopped with saying the brake looked Japanese. I almost asked if it was Honda but, I didn't recall the Hondas having that big of a hub for one thing. On the Enfield, as I remember, the 350 was slightly smaller than the 500 and the 250 had a total different look all over. And I was kinda comparing to the size of that BSA Spitfire Scrambler and, well kinda drew a conclusion. Plus, by the look of that gas tank (with the way the side of the rank was built, with sort of a bead on the aide of the tank) that tells me that the bike should be, at least, around a 1958- maybe early 60's and I don't think the 350 was around then. If it was, I don't remember seeing anything on it and so maybe it wasn't brought to the U.S. Got anything you want to add? Have to admit that the forks with the boots and the design of the fork legs kinda threw me, I don't remember seeing those 2 features right off. BTW, I've got a complete front brake lever control assy for a Royal Enfield twin (set up for the dual front shoe setup) and wish I had the rest of the bike to go with it! ::)

Billy, didn't notice the forks, they look Italian along with the front hub.

Sorry to tell you that you failed miserably on the 500 guess. ;D
The 350 and 500 bikes were the same size, the give away was the yellow number plates ;D ;D ;D ;D
