Another noobie from KY
« on: July 27, 2007, 09:51:58 AM »
I just started looking for a bike again. Sold my 1986 Honda 1100 Saber in 1998. Really a fast bike but it was big. I've owned a 1985 650 Nighthawk, Yamaha 650 twin, 1973 750 Triumph, 1976 550, 1965(I think) 150 Dream, Honda 90 (don't remember the year) and the original step thru Honda 50. Looking to find a bike for a cafe project. My how prices have changed in 9 years for older bikes  :o I'm a retired machinist and love to tinker so this will be right up my alley.

Welcome. What model in particular are you interested in? Folks here frequently mention bikes for sale they come across. Keep us posted on how it's going.

I've found a 350 scrambler but the guy is still thinking, and another guy has a 350four, but again I'm waiting for contact number. I just started looking last week. I thought I wanted another 305 superhawk but those are $$ and I haven't found a beater that I would mind making a cafe bike out of. I'm more into the cafe look than actually trying to race so speed isn't needed.

Greetings from Colorado. What part of KY are you from?

I live in Dnumor,KY (you can't get here from anywhere, where in the boonies) by Lake Malone, about 50 miles west of Bowling Green.

I'm the new owner of a 1978 cb750. Didn't think I get it for that bid so I'm happy ;D.
I guess the real fun starts now ;)

A WKy boy. Me too but not anymore. Know how to say "excuse me" in Paducah? "Get the F@#k outta my way". Have a good ride between the lakes.
