Western Hills Honda ?
« on: July 23, 2007, 01:36:31 PM »
Their website seems to have been hijacked by a financial services company (strange name for someone trying to sell investment advice...)

Anybody know what's happened to them?

I know it as www.westernhillshonda.NET

which now takes me to the address Bob pointed out.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

They did lose their domain name earlier this year. As shown, the www.westernhillshonda.net takes you there.

Bummer. Their site now looks like all the other Honda dealer pages. Plus, you can't search the vintage parts inventory anymore.

I don't really like the new site... :(

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall that you could look up parts on westernhillshonda.net; however, the parts locater would not tell you if the part is actually in stock.

Personally, I use the Service Honda System. Their system is interactive, and is (as far as I can tell) the same application that the Honda Dealers use. Using their system involves two things I normally abhor (Microsoft Internet Explorer and ActiveX components); however, it is entirely worth it because you can browse catalogs and do cross referencing quite easily.

Some time back, I wrote some quick instructions about how to use it:
Using the Service Honda System

I'll write a quick FAQ if it would be useful. I use their system whenever I (or someone here) needs to know what years are interchangeable for a given part. It's like nothing else available on the Internet for Honda parts, and I'm kind of surprised that more members don't use it. Mebbe it's not as useful for other folks?

P.S. In terms of interactivity and speed, the Service Honda system blows away other sites with static images of parts fiche.

I think that would be a great addition to the FAQ area.

There hasn't been any unauthorized arc building in the area, has there?  If you see a lot of animals two-by-two, you might want to follow them!

Well (pun intended) the only dry place is the water pipes that are empty!!!

Seriously tho' new house is dry, nephew, whose garden has the river severn at the end, has a flooded orchard but so far a dry house. Bonus is we still got electrons( guess thats why i am typing this) and the transport firm i work for is making loadsamoney transporting bottled water about!

Would you believe I moved south from soggy Manchester to stay dryer???

Thanks for the thoughts but we are way better off than those that got Hammered by Katrina and just have to learn to go out for o poop and drink soda!
